Bluebells School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: The Best Halloween Event in Derby!

Are you ready to step into a world of magic, pumpkins, and spellbinding fun?

This October, your favourite Farm Park in Derbyshire, is being transformed into the Bluebells School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and we’re inviting you to join us!

Running from 19th October to 31st October, this witchcraft-themed experience is filled with enchanting activities for witches, wizards, and magical creatures of all ages. Whether it’s broomstick flying lessons or pumpkin picking that excites you, we promise you the best Halloween event in Derby this year.

A Magical Adventure Awaits

Your adventure begins the moment you arrive when you’re welcomed into our Cat Hat Sorting Ceremony! The enchanted Cat Hat will place you into one of four magical houses – Gredelpaw, Serpentine, Hullaballoo, or Dragonclaw. Will you join the clever Gredelpaws or the brave Dragonclaws? Whichever house you’re sorted into, you’ll compete to earn house points in a range of magical challenges and activities throughout this Halloween event in Derby.

Broomstick Flying School

What’s a wizarding school without broomstick flying? Join our broomstick instructors, Minerva Moon and Bathilda Bristles, as they teach you the art of soaring through the skies. Learn essential flying techniques and put your skills to the test, earning your broomstick licence by the end of your lesson. It’s perfect for kids with big imaginations (and parents who love watching the magic unfold)! 

 

Squidditch Tournament

Feeling competitive? Get ready for a thrilling game of Squidditch, where you and your housemates will battle it out to score as many points as possible by getting enchanted balls into the goals. This fast-paced game is sure to have everyone cheering for their house champions!

Care of Enchanted Insects

For budding magizoologists, the Care of Enchanted Insects class is a must. Led by our expert professors, you’ll discover fascinating facts about the magical insects that live on our farm. Answer the professor’s questions correctly to earn points for your house, and who knows, you might even uncover a new species or two!

Pumpkin Picking and Carving

October wouldn’t be complete without some good old pumpkin fun! At Bluebells Farm Park, we’ve got a HUGE pumpkin patch bursting with pumpkins in all shapes and sizes. Every paying child ticket includes one pumpkin, so you can choose your perfect one and carve it right here on the farm. We’ll even take care of the mess! Did we already mention that it will be the best Halloween event in Derby this year?? 

(*Please note: Pumpkins are not included with tickets for children under 2.)

The Alchemist’s Adventure

Up for a challenge? Join the Alchemist’s Adventure, a scavenger hunt across the farm to collect magical potion ingredients. With a magical Bluebells Alchemist map in hand, explore the grounds and gather everything needed to help our resident alchemist create his legendary love potion. It’s a fantastic way to explore the farm and uncover some hidden magic!

Unicorn Racing

What’s a wizarding school without a bit of unicorn magic? At Bluebells School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, we take it up a notch with Unicorn Racing! Pick your trusty steed and race your unicorn to the finish line, earning points for your house along the way.  Who will claim victory?

 

Herbology in the Enchanted Greenhouse

Join us in the Enchanted Greenhouse for a hands-on Herbology lesson. You’ll get to plant your very own magical seeds, which you can take home and nurture into something truly special. Who knows what enchanting plants will sprout from your seedling?

 

Spooky Farm Fun with a Twist

Our regular farm activities are still in full swing, just with a spooky Halloween twist! Enjoy our Small Animal Petting, where you can cuddle up to our friendly farm animals or try your luck at Pig Apple Bobbing. And don’t forget to catch our popular Sheep Race – but watch out, these sheep are racing to win!

Instagram-Worthy Selfie Stations

Get your cameras ready because there are plenty of Instagram-worthy selfie stations scattered across the farm. From the pumpkin patch to the magical props and enchanting backgrounds, every corner of the farm is a photo opportunity just waiting to happen. Capture your magical day out and share the fun with family and friends.

 

Spooky Treats and Marshmallow Toasting

Feeling peckish after all the excitement? Stop by our I-Scream Parlour for a wickedly delicious treat. With spooky ice cream flavours, sundaes, and milkshakes to choose from, there’s something for every witch and wizard! And if you fancy something a bit warmer, why not join us for Marshmallow Toasting around the campfire? (Please note: Marshmallow toasting is not included in the ticket price, but it’s well worth the experience.) This year, we are also introducing a brand new flavour – Butterscotch Beer Ice Cream! You see what we have done here…
