Bluebells goes Green

Harnessing the Power of the Sun: Bluebell Dairy’s Commitment to a Greener Future

At Bluebell Dairy, we’ve always believed in crafting delicious ice cream with love and care, but our commitment doesn’t stop at creating tasty treats. We’re equally dedicated to ensuring that our business practices are as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the latest step in our green journey: the installation of solar panels that will dramatically reduce our carbon footprint and energy consumption.

Going Solar: A Major Leap Toward Sustainability

Our new solar panel installation is more than just a shiny addition to the dairy—it’s a game-changer. With these panels, we’re proud to say that 80% of our power will now come from the sun. This shift not only aligns with our goal of reducing our carbon output but also significantly lowers our energy bills, enabling us to invest more in the things that matter, like creating even more delicious, handcrafted ice cream and putting in more attractions for families to enjoy

The Impact: Saving 47 Tonnes of CO2 Every Year

But what does this really mean in terms of environmental impact? By harnessing solar energy, we’ll be saving an impressive 47 tonnes of CO2 each year. To put that in perspective, it’s equivalent to taking seven cars off the road annually. It’s a HUGE reduction in our carbon footprint, and it’s a change we’re incredibly proud to make.

Powering Ice Cream Production Responsibly

As much as we love making ice cream, we recognize that the process requires a significant amount of energy, especially when it comes to keeping our freezers running around the clock. These freezers are crucial for both the production and storage of our ice cream, ensuring that every scoop is as fresh and delicious as it can be. By turning to solar power, we’re ensuring that our energy-intensive processes are powered in the most sustainable way possible.

A Greener Future, One Scoop at a Time

Our transition to solar power is just one of the many steps we’re taking to improve our green credentials. At Bluebell Dairy, we’re committed to continually exploring ways to minimize our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future. Whether you’re enjoying a cone at our parlor or picking up a tub at your local store, you can feel good knowing that every lick of Bluebells ice cream is made with the planet in mind.

We couldn’t be more excited about this new chapter in our story, and we hope you’ll join us in celebrating this milestone. Here’s to a brighter, greener future—powered by the sun and enjoyed one scoop at a time!
